Potty Training Puppy Using Crate

Dog Crates are devised by man for dogs live in accommodation and teaching them good habits.  Like all other animals, puppies defecate, which is a biological function of eliminating waste products after digestion and assimilation of food ingested.

1. Confining in a crate:
Puppies do not understanding where to defecate in a required confinement in a dog crate kept outside house, is good and necessary for easy potty training. Do not keep waste paper or cloth under the crate, which can be damaged by puppy.
By their nature dogs are reluctant to eliminate at their living place. The dog crate needs to be of bigger size for free movement of the puppy and it serves the purpose of bed for the puppy to sleep. As the puppies grow into adulthood, they require larger sized crate, with a provision of creating a partition making two separate spaces.
In the duration of housebreaking, the puppy should be kept in the crate. Please ensure that before you put the puppy in the cage take him/her out so that the elimination need is carried out before confining in her/his cage. No food is to be kept in the crate only toys for chewing and a cloth sheet.

7. Punishing the Puppy:
If some unexpected action happens, punish the crate puppy, when you see the puppy in that action, otherwise it shall be meaningless, because the puppy would not know why you are punishing.
